taking a step back
i’ve been thinking of this alot lately and i have decided to take a step back from building software and exploring the field of computer science and ai.
this decision has come after i’ve failed in chemistry at school and tbh, i had it coming from a long time.
i have built a shit ton of backlog in the past months, according to gale its about 48% of the syllabus that’s been completed yet in class. some of it was due to factors beyond my control, like getting sick or having to participate in competitions. but most of it was due to my stupidity and me being naive that jee is fucking easy and taking a study session off, or missing a lecture won’t affect much. that’s on me. i messed up, and now im facing the concequences.
i had been building software as a way of procrastination. whenever i got burnt out of studying or felt like this shit was too hard, i’d shoot up my terminal, my agent and started building on ideas. the excuse i’d give myself was that this will help me in my admissions abroad. but building without any depth of the concepts i’m using isn’t really gonna land me at stanford or mit. this was becoming a problem, cause im getting nowhere on either ways.
i knew what the results of the chemistry exam were gonna be the moment i stepped out of the examination hall. as much as i am dissapointed in my self and feel bad about the result, i feel like it was a wake up call.
i have also decided that i will try to stay away from social media. i will not be posting much or be active on linkedin or any other socials anymore, how ever you can still hit me up at hello[at]h4rman.com .
i have also made a decision of trying to document the coming two years and posting notes about my jee journey, the mistakes i make, the things i learn. all for a harman somewhere who should’ve known all this.
be adviced, i’m not a good writer. these notes will be unpolished, with sloppy grammar and in a overly casual tone, cause who tf is even reading lol. i’m gonna try to not use any llms, if i do i’ll mention it. tho, i have declared my take on usage of llms here
